Innovation, Sustainability, & Quality
Heartland Chia offers the first and only chia grown in the Midwest!
Our chia is 100% non-GMO and grown using sustainable production practices on family farms in the United States. We hold the exclusive license to the only chia seed that can grow in the midwestern United States, and since 2011, we have been working to develop and expand the production of chia with farms across the U.S.
Our chia comes with quality certifications and testing to meet U.S. food-safety standards and is 100% traceable to the field it was grown in.
You can even meet the farmer who grew it!
Unless otherwise specified when ordering, our chia has been through a natural "Kill Step" process to reduce the possibility of pathogens. Heartland Chia is low moisture to extend shelf life and prevent spoilage. This also means that it can be consumed straight from the bag with no further processing or cooking, making it ideal for use in smoothies and other liquid applications.

U.S. grown chia is truly sustainable and even a restorative crop that can help heal the land and environment!
Chia has much lower input needs compared to conventional crops as it needs less water, uses much less fertilizer, can be grown using no-till, and brings biodiversity to crop rotations, which breaks disease and insect cycles naturally without having to use pesticides.

Chia is a pollinator crop that benefits the bees and the butterflies.

Chia helps family farms by offering a better opportunity for both profitability and environmental stewardship.
